I am so excited that I can finally fill in all of my fans about my trip to Toronto earlier this month! I have been asked to be an American Ambassador for Free the Children. Free the Children is a Canada based organization that frees children from poverty and lets them know they are not powerless in society in areas like Kenya, Sri-Lanka and Ecuador.
They focus on providing education in areas where education is not a priority for children. I was honored to visit one of Free the Children’s headquarters in Toronto, ON and participate in their annual Take Action! Leadership Academy.
Teens from all over, with the same ideas of making the world a better place, came together and participated in team building and leadership activities. After participating in the Academy I toured all of the departments that make up this large organization.
I am honored to be chosen as an American Ambassador and spread the word about Free The Children in the States. I am really looking forward to visiting Free the Children schools in America and seeing what teens are doing here to spread awareness. I would also love to be given the opportunity to visit one of the areas that Free the Children is building schools.
